DotGreen Community, Inc. is pleased to announce that the Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers (ICANN) completed the initial evaluation of DotGreen’s sustainability focused .green Top-Level Domain (TLD) application. Approval came on Friday, April 19, 2013 as part of the ICANN New TLD program.

The DotGreen Community, Inc., the premier representative promoting the launch of the new .green Top-Level Domain (TLD), introduced a greener Prague to delegates of the international ICANN conference taking place this week at the Hilton Hotel. The idea, vision and global concept of the .green online sustainability identifier has been in the works for almost five years. DotGreen’s application for the .green TLD proposes to offer people, companies, Non-profits and even governments a new path to expression of their sustainability commitments and efforts while bringing attention to the greater and global shift to greener business practices and greener lifestyles. The new .green Top Level Domain (TLD) was also just revealed Tuesday by The Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers (ICANN) as one of the new TLDs slated for the largest expansion of the Internet the world has ever seen starting in 2013. “While GREEN may be the hottest topic for the 21st Century and at Rio +20, the Internet is undergoing its most incredible expansion since inception.
